Trainer's Statement

My name is Alexis but most people call me Lexi. My passion for service dog training began when I owner-trained my own psychiatric service dog, Phoebe, many years ago. Phoebe completely transformed my quality of life, and through that experience, I realized I wanted to help others experience the same life-changing partnership.

As a service dog handler myself, I bring both professional knowledge and firsthand experience to my training programs. I am especially passionate about advocating for service dogs, particularly psychiatric service dogs, and helping handlers navigate their training journey with confidence.

I know from personal experience that training a service dog can be challenging, overwhelming, and sometimes even lonely. That’s why community and connection are such important parts of the Heeling Souls experience. There is something incredibly empowering about connecting with others who understand the unique challenges, milestones, and victories that come with raising and training a service dog.

When I was training Phoebe, I often wished I had a supportive community to lean on. That experience inspired me to build exactly that for my clients. At Heeling Souls, you’re not just training a service dog you’re becoming part of a community of people who support, encourage, and learn from one another every step of the way.
