Trainer's Statement
I became a professional dog trainer after experiencing first hand the life-altering impact training can have – both for dog and person. The relationship between person and dog can be incredibly profound. It is my desire to foster such bonds through patient and compassionate training.Â
I became deeply passionate about the study of dog behavior. This led me to complete an internship at Best Friends Animal Sanctuary and to earn my Certified Professional Dog Trainer (CPDT-KA). Firmly believing that continued learning is essential, I joined the Association of Professional Dog Trainers (APDT). Not only participating in conferences, but also serving as a member of the Conference Committee. I am also an AKC Evaluator for the Canine Good Citizen program.
I use positive reinforcement focusing on fun and cooperative care. My goal is to create trust and build confidence.
I have experience with a very large range of breeds, ages and abilities, though I have a particular fondness for working with behavioral issues, especially fearful dogs. I find great joy in helping these dogs overcome their challenges and learn to thrive. Having completed Atlas Certified Trainer program, I am excited to bring service dog training into my program.
