Trainer's Statement

Shannon is passionate about Behaviour, Service and Therapy dog work.

With a background in human mental health, and with her last “real” job being Manager of Mental Health Strategy at Carleton U, Shannon founded Carleton University’s Therapy Dog program which remains a beloved gem today. The program is designed as a low intensity, upstream resource to protect students’ mental health and create more community connection.

Shannon excels in supporting clients in navigating the emotional challenges that come with raising a dog, training a service dog, or supporting a dog with complex behavioural needs. She believes that dog behaviour is deeply connected to the well-being of the humans they live with, and we must strive to support both.
