Congratulations Ronald and Romeo
A big congratulations to team Ronald and Romeo who successfully completed their Public Access Test and are now an Atlas Certified Team!
“Romeo brings joy to my life, reminding me daily of the beauty of unconditional love and loyalty. His presence fills my heart with warmth, and his playful nature brings laughter and happiness to even the most challenging days. Furthermore, witnessing Romeo’s training journey alongside Atlas has been truly inspiring. Their teamwork and discipline have taught me valuable lessons about patience, determination, and the power of positive reinforcement.” – Ronald
Ronald and Romeo are our second New York based team to certify this summer. Thank you to our amazing Team Facilitator, Linda for all her hard work supporting them!
Announcing our New Fitness Course!
We are excited to let you know that we have released a brand-new innovative course about dog fitness. Keeping a dog fit is important for their long-term health and well-being. Our dog fitness course covers important topics to help trainers, service dog handlers and pet dog owners better understand dog anatomy, movement and alignment. It covers many areas of fitness and exercise to help dogs increase their flexibility, balance, strength, stamina and endurance, all while taking the age of the dog into consideration.
Most of the exercises and games that are covered can be done from sitting and stationary positions, or modified in ways that work for different bodies. Handlers with varying levels of mobility can enjoy this course and help their dog stay fit and healthy.
Atlas Client Get Togethers
In Seattle, we currently have a large group of clients, Team Facilitators, and volunteers. We take advantage of different public spaces with monthly meet-ups where clients get to train their dogs together, practice in different environments, and develop supportive friendships. We love seeing our community grow as everyone pursues their service dog training goals!
Our summer intern: Over the last several weeks, we’ve had the joy to welcome Michelle as our intern. Michelle is a sophomore at Princeton University with a passion for mental health advocacy, equity in education, and disability inclusion. Read about her experience with us as she learned about the importance of accessible service dogs: Read here>>
Our work is made possible thanks to the generosity of donors like you.
