Another pawesome month!
Learn about what Atlas has been up to this month and what is coming up. We have some exciting news about our clients, your monthly Cal update, and more. And don’t miss our latest blog at the end of the newsletter.
Congratulations Ellen and Codi!
A big congratulations to team Ellen and Codi who successfully completed their Public Access Test and certified as an Atlas Team! Codi was the first to be trained in our pilot Assistance Dogs Set in Motion program. He met Ellen as a puppy, then headed off to his puppy raiser for about eight months of foundation skills training. Ellen and Codi then entered Atlas’ Client Certification program to complete their service dog training together. Codi is Ellen’s second service dog and they have both worked very hard together. We are very proud of this team and can’t wait to see what the future holds as they continue their journey together.
Clicker Expo
We are excited to be attending and presenting at our first in-person Clicker Expo since the pandemic, March 16th-19th in Washington DC! Back in March 2020, our booth was all set up for the opening conference day, when it was announced that we had to all pack up and head home for everyone’s safety. So, this Expo is very exciting for us. We are looking forward to seeing familiar faces and meeting new people who share a passion for positive, ethical dog training!
Monthly Cal Update
Cal, the sweet chocolate lab that we have been raising for Amy, a Washington veteran, is now 11 months old! He is maturing nicely and working on learning more skills out in public and around distractions. While he is a puppy full of energy, he is also great at self-soothing and finding a toy to settle on his own. He happily walks quietly past as other dogs, even when they are barking at him. He is a big cuddler and will be awesome for the deep pressure therapy that his person wants.
Welcome Jacqueline
We are pleased to introduce our newest Board member, Jacqueline Kinnaird. Jacqueline worked for over 15 years at J&J Consumer South Africa, holding several senior positions in Marketing, driving brand growth strategies and building iconic brands. She has focused on developing her leadership skills in corporate marketing. In 2020 Jacqueline relocated to the USA with her husband, getting to know her new home, and hiking in the fantastic national parks of Washington. Today she works privately with small businesses to develop their business strategy and digital marketing plans. She is excited about the opportunity to use her experience and skills in helping to expand Atlas’ mission to make service dogs more accessible to those that need them.
