Trainer's Statement

My name is Tasha DeVries and I am the human behind As You Wish Assistance Dogs! My passion for service dog training began when I was partnered with my amazing cardiac service dog, Tinkerbell. I am a Karen Pryor Academy Certified Training Partner, an Atlas Assistance Dogs Certified Trainer, an AKC Certified Evaluator and a Certified Classroom Teacher. My mission is to help individuals with disabilities achieve greater independence through owner training and partnerships with task trained service dogs. I serve the Seattle, Bellingham, WA and Fraser Valley, BC regions in person and globally through virtual support.

Through my training as a certified professional trainer, I help set your dog up for success and work towards your training goals in a way that is fun, positive and geared towards supporting your relationship. Through my training as a certified classroom teacher, I am uniquely equipped to differentiate instruction, break down learning goals and provide creative instruction for the human end of the leash. I am deeply passionate about facilitating the human, canine bond and helping you and your dog find moments to celebrate and enjoy one another every day!

I help clients select an ideal service dog candidate. I help disabled individuals’ partner with breeders, temperament test puppies, screen adult dogs and begin their partnership together. I have worked with many different types of service dogs who help people with a wide variety of tasks and disabilities. If a task is not my specialty, I am happy to get creative, connect with other trainers and problem solve to build towards your goal behaviors.

As someone who has had their life radically changed by the amazing dogs around me, I am excited to be a part of your story.
